Halloween

It's Halloween today! Went to the city after class at 12.30pm to get a costume, fortunately managed to get one for £21.99. Even had to queue up outside the blardy shop just because there was too many people doing last minute shopping on Halloween...

And then Jon had this brilliant idea of painting our nails black, so we got a nail polish for £1.99 at that shop too. Eventually managed to paint all of our nails, thanks to Renee and Edward's wife, and the result is as shown below...

Scouting in the UK

Attended my first scouts meeting today with the 67th Kingswood (1st Mangotsfield) scouts group today. Lasted for about 1 1/2 hours, but it was different. Very different from the scouting back in Malaysia where it was so uniformed and have little room for improvisation of the activities that are being run back there.

Possibly see this as a long-term commitment towards continuing the scouting path, even managed to drag one of my friend, who was a scout back in primary school, to go along and boy, was he surprised at the different way that they do scouting over here.

Example of activities include scary video nights, ice skating at the mall, air rifle shooting, archery etc...

Your Love Life Secrets, Revealed

Your Love Life Secrets Are

Looking back on your life, you will only have one true love.

Although you may have been hurt before, you tend to bring very little scars into new relationships.

You expect a lot from your lover - you want the full package. You tend to be very picky.

In fights, you love to debate and defend yourself. You logic prevails - or at least you'd like to think so.

Getting over a break-up doesn't take long. Easy come, easy go.

BBQ

Yesterday had a BBQ session over at Niki's place in Caroll Court. It was the first inaugural P.E.L.A.C.U.R LLP's gathering since its inception about a month ago, and was attended by a few other distinguished guests like Mia (Renee's friend), Nora (Renee's housemate), Siang Chuan, Fei Kiat and Teng Teng.

Generally it went okay, but there was one person who was kaypoh & distruptive ruining the BBQ atmosphere, that resulted in some of the attendees getting pissed. Hopefully this becomes a nice lesson for everyone to keep their mouth shut quiet and give some respect to the organizing BBQ host.

Setting that aside, had much fun doing the twist (a.k.a. roti lilit) and Niki was doing the Potato in Egg, both were done ala scout styles that reminds both of us of the scouting days that we used to have back in Malaysia.

Lava Lamp

Decided to decorate my room a bit, so went ahead and got one Sainsbury lava lamp for my room. It's like greenish in color, but then again, it doesn't look quite odd in my room when the lights are switched off.

Fairytale

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

A fairytale backdrop?

Looking at the picture, doesn't it resemble a fairytale backdrop for Disney's stories? Some of you might say its fake, some of you might not. The scenery that you had witnessed above is real, and its existent in Bristol, UK. Somehow the countryside over in the UK seems so much nicer than Malaysia's, but I guess its a trade-off for all of your possessions that you've had back there...

Philips Speakers

Well...what can I say? Another day spent at Cribbs Causeway, first having lunch at Nando's, and then headed to Retail Park to shop for our laser printers. After browsing through Comets, PC World and Currys, finally we settled down for a HP laserjet printer which set us back about £80. Then we found out that the ciplak people here don't provide the usb printer cable, and that alone cost around £15.

Went along somemore, saw this nice Philips speaker on sale for £63...Guess what? I think i'm getting hit by a compulsive shopping disease, went ahead and bought it, but partly because I did not lug my Edifier speakers over to UK. And the results? A pampered and satisfied customer of PC World.

Perodua Kembara?

Well, I found a car resembling to the Perodua Kembara sold in Malaysia in my campus a few days ago. Quite astonishing on the sightings of Malaysian made cars in the UK, so far I had spotted a Waja, Satria and Wira. Don't know why, but the sightings of these objects made me feel closer home, and especially since sighting of a Yeos soya bean packet drink in the Student Union shop.

Work...work...Work!

Classes commenced yesterday on the 1st of Oct, and guess what? The advanced management accounting module already whacked us with one assignment that is due on the 13th of December 2007. And that requires a 270-page book to be bought at the price of £12.99, known as Relevance Lost - The Rise and Fall of Management Accounting written by H. Thomas Johnson and Robert S. Kaplan.

Oh well, going to go to the library tonight with the rest to read up on the book and get a heads up on the assignment, guess there's no more procrastination this year for me -.-'''
